Marine Anchor Chain

The marine anchor chain is a steel chain connecting the hull and the anchor.

The main functions of the marine anchor chain are: Connecting the anchor and the ship, and transmitting the holding force of the anchor to the ship; When anchoring, the thrown anchor chain has a certain weight, which can play a certain buffer role in the water against the external forces such as wind and current; The force of the anchor chain on the horizontal underwater part is kept horizontal, which is conducive to the reliable bottom grasping of the anchor. At the same time, this part of anchor chain can also provide some anchoring force due to the blocking effect of soil.

According to the manufacturing method of the chain link, the anchor chain can be devided into three stypes:
a.Welded anchor chain: it is widely used because of its advanced technology, simple, low manufacturing cost, superior quality to other types of anchor chains.
b. Cast rigid anchor chain: advantages: high strength, good rigidity, no looseness of support and long service life. Disadvantages: high manufacturing cost and poor impact load resistance of anchor chain.
c. Forged anchor chain: the process is complex and the cost is high, so it is basically not used.

According to the purpose, the anchor chain is divided into marine anchor chain and marine mooring chain.

According to the function, the marine anchor chain can be divided into two types: with stud and without stud.
